The mainstream press is finally starting to catch on to just how powerful the new on-demand publishing tools are for independent writers, musicians, and artists. This story here about a 26-year old women named Amanda Hocking has been circling the web for the last two weeks and explains how she has used the Amazon Kindle platform as well as CreateSpace print on-demand to publish her books. She started publishing in April of 2010 and it is estimated that she has sold over 1 million copies to date. Not bad for 11 months.
