Best Selling Author Leaves Publisher to Go On-Demand

Seth Godin, one of the leading thought leaders on marketing as well as a best-selling author, announced on his blog that he will be leaving his publisher Portfolio and sell his work directly to his fans.  His vision is to provide content to fans of his blog and his books through e-Books and self publishing.  This is not his first foray into the on demand world.  One of his books, Permission Marketing : Turning Strangers Into Friends And Friends Into Customers, was sold through a self publishing venture just over a decade ago.

This is illustrating this growing trend for authors, musicians, filmmakers, and other content creators to move away from traditional distribution channels and move their work on-demand.  The revolution continues...
